Paint.NET is free image and photo editing software for computers that run Windows. It features an intuitive and innovative user interface with support for layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools. An active and growing online community provides friendly help, tutorials, and plugins.

It started development as an undergraduate college senior design project mentored by Microsoft, and is currently being maintained by some of the alumni that originally worked on it. Originally intended as a free replacement for the Microsoft Paint software that comes with Windows, it has grown into a powerful yet simple image and photo editor tool. It has been compared to other digital photo editing software packages such as Adobe^® Photoshop^®, Corel^® Paint Shop Pro^®, Microsoft Photo Editor, and The GIMP.

Please note that Paint.NET uses your hard drive to store temporary files related to undo/redo history. Because of this, actual disk space requirements will depend on the type of actions you perform on an image, and on the size of the image.

HijackThis log file analysis online

HijackThis opens you a possibility to find and fix nasty entries on your computer easier.
Therefore it will scan special parts in the registry and on your harddisk and compare them with the default settings. If there is some abnormality detected on your computer HijackThis will save them into a logfile. In order to find out what entries are nasty and what are installed by the user, you need some background information.

Add support for the scroll wheel to the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications 6 environment

When you use the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) 6 integrated development environment (IDE) — also referred to as the Visual Basic Editor — to add or edit a macro or module in your Microsoft Office 2003 program , the scroll wheel on your mouse might not function. That's because VBA is based on the Microsoft Visual Basic 6 IDE, which does not include built-in support for the scroll wheel. You can use the technique discussed here to add support for the scroll wheel to VBA 6. These instructions are based on the technique found in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 837910: Mouse wheel events do not work in the Visual Basic 6.0 IDE.

Get rid of the Annoying Avi Chunk Viewer window

After I installed the K-Lite Codec pack, I sometimes get this Avi Chunk Viewer window at the most annoying times possible. It seems this is caused by a codec called Avi splitter. It pops up when there is an avi found with an incomplete footer.

To remove the Avi Chunk Viewer, do the following:

1. Start the K-Lite Codec Tweak Tool, located in the K-Lite\Configuration start-menu.

2. Go to the Disable part, and select Avi Splitter.

That's it. Although you might have to reboot your computer.
