Startup Delayer - Spped up you PC!

The power to speed up your computer's startup process!

Can you learn another language in the time it takes for your machine to boot? Do you turn on your PC when you go to bed, so it's finished booting by the time you get home from work the next day?

When Windows loads it's Startup file, it attempts to load every program in there at the same time. Therefore if you have quite a lot of programs starting when Windows starts, each program will try and grab CPU time so that it can load.

If each program tries to do this at the same time, you soon notice the slow down that occurs, due to your CPU trying to help all the programs to load, and your hard disk accessing multiple files.

Startup Delayer allows you to setup how many seconds after Windows has started, to load each program.

For Example:
If you have your mail program and a special clock starting up, then you can make your mail start say 10 seconds after Windows has loaded, and then the special clock start 20 seconds after Windows Starts.

Compatible with Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/XP64/Vista

Microsoft Office - Recover deleted items from any folder

Credit: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA011165281033.aspx

Microsoft Office Outlook® 2003
Microsoft Outlook® 2000 and 2002

This feature requires you to use a Microsoft Exchange Server e-mail account. This feature is designed for advanced users who are comfortable backing up and modifying the Microsoft Windows® Registry.

Outlook provides a way to recover items after you have permanently deleted them, including after emptying the Deleted Items folder. Your Exchange server administrator specifies the retention time for permanently deleted items on the Exchange server. After this time has elapsed, you cannot recover the deleted items.

By default, to use the Recover Deleted Items command on the Tools menu, you must be viewing the Deleted Items folder. By modifying the registry, this command is available regardless of which Outlook folder that you are viewing. You can view and recover deleted items, including those items that were permanently deleted by using SHIFT+DELETE, for the folder that you are viewing.

Note If you deleted an item and emptied the Deleted Items folder, click Deleted Items to use Recovered Deleted Items. Only items that you permanently deleted with SHIFT+DELETE or SHIFT+Button image are available in folders other than Deleted Items.

Caution If you use the registry editor incorrectly, you might cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using the registry editor incorrectly. Use the registry editor at your own risk.

  1. Exit Outlook.
  2. Open the Windows registry editor.
  3. Browse to My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Client\Options.
  4. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
  5. Type the name DumpsterAlwaysOn.

Note Do not type any spaces in the name.

  6. Set the DWORD value to 1.
  7. Restart Outlook.

The Tools menu now has the Recover Deleted Items command for every Outlook folder.

ExtractNow: allows you to extract multiple archives

ExtractNow is a simple utility that allows you to extract multiple archives quickly and easily. ExtractNow is not a complete archival solution. It's main purpose it to allow the user to extract multiple archives easily.

Why wear out your clicking finger extracting files one by one when you can extract at once? ExtractNow does a fine job of bundling compressed files and extracting their contents in one fell swoop. ExtractNow has a clean, well-designed and easy-to-use interface. To extract files, simply drag and drop them into the main program window, or right-click the files while in Windows Explorer. Fuzzy Text On TV? High Resolution Font Problem?

Fuzzy text on TV? high resolution font size problem? 1 px shadow to the left problem ? Eye Fatigue?

I took all best answers from all over the net and these are the solutions for this annoying problem:

in order for it to be crisp and clear you need 1:1 pixel mapping and you'll want to feed it 1920x1080 at 60hz.
In the Samsung manuals there is a section on connecting a PC and explains how your particular model is switched to allow 1:1 mapping.

1) Try tuning on Clear Type.

Vista

Right click on any blank spot of desktop, and then select Personalize on pop-up context menu.
Select Window Color and Appearance.
Click on “Open classic appearance properties for more color options” link located at the bottom of the page.
Click on the Effects button.
Check the “Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts” box.
Select ClearType in the drop down list under the above title.
Click OK, then click Apply, and finally finish with clicking OK again.

XP

Right-click the desktop, select Properties.
Click the Appearance tab, and click on the Effects button.
In the window that opens up, check the second box that says Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts and select ClearType from the drop-down menu, then OK out of all windows.

2) Goto Windows Appearance - Change the font size to "Extra large"

3) Try tuning your cleartype-

5)Is your LCD display little blurry and text little difficult to read? Clear Type Font smoothing should do the trick for better readability on your LCD display. Clear Tweak is a free utility that allows you to make changes to Clear Type contrast settings on Windows XP computer for better LCD display.
